This past weekend we enjoyed several family-filled days as we celebrated my cousin, G’s wedding. I wish that I had taken more photos of the actual wedding celebration (especially the bride and groom!) but was a little distracted by little A and B. The wedding was nothing short of beautiful…as were the bride and groom.
Below is a little glimpse of what the weekend looked like in our neck of the wood.
On Friday, (during the rehearsal dinner) we hosted an informal "ode to Texas” meal at our house with out of town family…
Saturday, we got all gussied up for the wedding. B looked like a miniature man in his sweater vest and leather shoes…while A donned a frilly dress that made my heart melt!
The reception was absolutely beautiful as we were able to watch the sunset from our table while enjoying a delicious meal.
After getting some last minute dance suggestions from Aunt A…
B and his cousin, A, tore up the dance floor!
We shut the dancing down quite a bit after B’s typical bedtime and headed home to get some necessary shut eye before heading up to the cabin for a family day at the lake.
While G and L headed off on their honeymoon, we all headed up to the cabin.
Our little family was some of the first to arrive at the cabin…B and A took full advantage of the lazy morning and got some good cuddle/wrestling time with with C.
Later, after everyone started to roll in, we enjoyed getting out of the boat…
J and C were the only ones brave enough to get in the chilly water!
Others enjoyed some quite time on the dock…
Catching up with snacks around the table…
Watching movies on the couch…
Taking naps on the couch…
And simply hanging out.
We capped the day off with a traditional cabin buffet meal…burgers, corn on the cob, fruit and yummy dessert.
There were 24 of us in all…too many to fit around one table but just perfect for two!
Little L and A watched dinner from their respective spots.
This is the group (minus a few important people-L & G and J & A we missed you!)
It was quite a treat to be able to enjoy some prolonged celebrating as this side of our family doesn’t all live in close proximity to one another.
G & L…thanks for inviting us to celebrate with you. You both were glowing and your celebration was beautiful!
Be blessed.
