B the Helper

B’s found himself being quite the helper while his Gram and Grandpa were in town to celebrate his birthday.

He helped his Gram make a new cushion for his window seat…

And helped his Grandpa hang a make shift shelf to hang in the linen closet…

B’s little world continues to expand by the day. It is so fun to watch him mimic our work in his play…it leaves this momma humbled by all the different ways he his watching my every move!

Be blessed.

Thank you A family for the tool box…it has been quite a hit!

A Glimpse of B’s Birthday Week

It’s been awhile!

We’ve experienced some “technical difficulties” in our neck of the wood…but are finally back up and running and hopeful that we can get caught up with sharing photos and little tid bits of our family’s life  before little A arrives!

We enjoyed celebrating B’s birthday a touch early this year and hosted his party at his school.  It was great to be able to celebrate at a place where little ones could play and simply be kids…not to mention quite a treat to not have to have our house clean and ready to host a party.

The theme of the party was everything “choo choo” as our little guy continues to be fascinated by any and everything locomotive.

I found this cake mold around Christmas time (at the onset of B’s fascination with trains) and hoped that he would still like trains enough to use it for his birthday…which ended up working out quite well!

B (and other little friends) were quite fascinated by all the bright colored and sweet train cars…

When it was time to sing and eat the cake, B was not fascinated with the idea of being sung to. He furrowed his little eye brows and put his head into C’s shoulder as we all sang “Happy Birthday” to him.

IMG_4946

B’s fascination and joy did resume when C offered him part of the train’s engine to eat!

IMG_4949

It was such a treat to celebrate our precious little guy’s second year (and our second year of parenthood) surrounded by family and friends!

IMG_4916

After the party, we enjoyed a little bit of extra time with family. C and I were so grateful to have had our respective families travel to be a part of B’s party.

After we said our goodbyes we put a very exhausted little birthday conductor down for a long nap!

IMG_5582

We felt it only appropriate to kick off B’s actual birthday by heading to our favorite bakery to enjoy breakfast.

B rode to breakfast in style as he donned his bumble bee pajama's and TCU hat in his  “Daddeee’s truuuk” (his vehicle of choice)…

IMG_5025

With so many tasty treats to choose from, B chose donut holes to eat for his first breakfast as a two year old!

IMG_5027

He made sure to enjoy every last bite!

IMG_5028IMG_5029IMG_5030

Later, before naptime, we headed to a new park for B to play at and explore…we found that he was drawn to play on the train…I can’t say that I was surprised in the least!

IMG_5041

After B’s nap, B’s Papa, Gigi and Gram joined us for one last birthday celebration.

B was once again quite hesitant as a result of the birthday song (it didn’t help that the wait staff seemed to jump out of the woodwork to sing to him and put a sombrero on top of his head)…but our little two year old recovered nicely…

IMG_5066IMG_5068

He even enjoyed some homemade bumble bee cake!

IMG_5071

After dinner, just before bed, B opened his gifts from C and I. We  found this play mat for him to drive his trains, cars, trucks and diggers on, I don’t know who was more excited, B or C? Oh, the joys of being a little boy!

IMG_5078

C and I continue to marvel at the little toddler that B has become…it truly feels like we just held him for the first time at the hospital.

We are so grateful for B’s sunny disposition,  his smile, his silly “b-isms” and even his trying two year old independent moments…he continues to be such a gift to us. We are humbled that the Lord has entrusted this little being into our care and wonder what the next year might hold?!

Here’s to choo choo trains, bumble bees and two year olds!

Be blessed.

Home Stretch?

We’ve hit 35 weeks in our neck of the wood…B surprised us at 37 weeks…and we are wondering when baby A might make her grand entrance?!?

We tried to commemorate my baby A bump with some photos on the bridge that C proposed on…as a friend captured my bump with B on the same bridge just before his big arrival.

Both Ella and B were good sports as we tried our hardest to capture a photo with the two “looking” at the camera…

IMG_5821IMG_5832

B’s choo choo even made an appearance…apparently baby bumps make for a good choo choo terrain.

We are getting quite anxious to meet our newest addition…only the Lord knows when that will be…so until then, we will patiently wait and try to enjoy our last bit of time as a family of three.

Be blessed.

Oh Happy Day!

It is entirely too hard to believe that we met our precious B TWO years ago today!!!!

We continue to stand in awe as we watch our little guy grow…

As tradition would have, we kicked B’s big day off at the bakery (with B still in his pajamas) where he was greeted by some friendly women behind the counter and then followed by some lazy time around the house, a trip to the park, lunch and a nice long afternoon nap!

We are looking forward to celebrating with family tonight as we all continue to marvel at God’s graciousness for providing this sweet little boy in each of our lives.

*B is also celebrating alongside his Auntie B and his brand new cousin, L, who was born this morning! What a day!!!!*

Oh, Happy Happy Day!

Be blessed.

Biking with B

I suspect these two will be doing a lot more biking this spring…as I stay home and take care of baby A and B enjoys some special dad time.

IMG_4881IMG_4879

C said that B seemed to enjoy the ride…he just looked out the window and watched his little world go by.

Be blessed.

Big Shoes to Fill…

Quite literally!

B has taken to bringing each of us our shoes to put on…and will occasionally try putting on the shoes himself!

We are days away from his second birthday…which is so hard to believe!

I am afraid that if I blink, these shoes might actually fit our little guy!

Getting Settled

We are still working on getting settled in our new neck of the wood…

However, by the grace of God, B has settled in rather quickly.  His little mind seems to think that business is back to normal…as is identified through his play with his cho choos!

Thank goodness for little ones’ resiliency (and cho choos!)

Happy Monday.

Be blessed.
