This weekend we walked down memory lane as we ventured out of our neck of the wood and headed over to the St. Croix Railroad for the last open ride day of the season.
My brothers and I enjoyed riding these miniature trains when we were little, it was quite a treat to be able to experience the tiny trains through B’s eyes.
Here is a glimpse of the SCR that I found on youtube to try to provide a glimpse of our special outing…
B was quite patient as we waited in line to ride the trains…
When it was finally time for us to board, B took his boarding instructions very seriously, he sat still, kept his hands in his lap (quite literally) and remained wide-eyed as the little steam engine began to inch its way down the track.
My Mimi and Grandpa joined in on the fun as spectators, they introduced us to the little engine many years ago.
The tracks wove through a little forest, crossed bridges & trestles and sped through tunnels.
Everything was built to scale…as is identified by this water tower...
After our ride, B enjoyed some popcorn and explored the railroad by foot…
He found a train to climb on…
And watched trains creep along the tracks.
All the excitement did a fantastic job of wearing out little guy out!
Little A enjoyed the trains from the comfort of her baby bjorn…maybe next year she’ll be as excited to ride the trains as B!!!!
Gram, Grandpa, Mimi & Grandpa…thanks for joining us for such a special adventure!
Be blessed.
