Bumps on the Bridge

C and I walked across this bridge many times while dating in Cowtown.

Between the two of us, the bridge became rather infamous…so much so that C proposed on it.

I wish we had a digital copy of our engagement photo on the bridge to adequately archive the chapters of our marriage and little family’s life thus far.

A friend captured this photo of C and I on the bridge while we were anticipating B’s arrival…

A couple years later, the 3 (4 if you include Ella) were captured on the same bridge anticipating Little A’s arrival…

IMG_5935

Now just over 4 years later, the bridge has changed…but the anticipation hasn’t, as we now anticipate our littlest nugget’s arrival!

IMG_2156

My cousin captured this beautiful memory for us…it truly encapsulates the anticipation and joy that B and A (and C and I ) share over their ‘baby’.

We are so looking forward to meeting our littlest nugget and one day seeing his or her little face amongst the other nuggets on a bridge around our neck of the wood…until then, we are trying to relish in life with two and praying for a non-eventful delivery and healthy baby nugget. Thank you for your prayers!

Be blessed.

Easter

Our prayer is that our nuggets would one day grasp the importance and miracle of the Resurrection.

In effort to plant tangible seeds about truth that seems so intangible, we tried baking Resurrection Cookies together as a family the day before Easter.

On Easter morning, we found the cookies baked in the sealed oven…both nuggets were quick to try them and seemed to enjoy the fact they were getting to have cookies for breakfast!

After trying the cookies. We set out to make breakfast together.

Like last year, we made Tomb Rolls

Once the tombs were baked, we sat down and enjoyed breakfast together as a family. B was thrilled to discover that our rolls were empty! Just like the tomb that Jesus has been placed in!!!

Little A and B enjoyed opening some cards sent with love from Texas while we ate…

IMG_4407

After church, we enjoyed brunch with some extended family.

Little A isn’t always one to warm up to other people’s laps…she made an exception and enjoyed some quality time with her Great Grandma and Grandpa!

IMG_4411

They obliged her hankering for a pink peep candy…which she gladly ate!

IMG_4415

Gram was gracious to sit with the nuggets during brunch while C and I enjoyed catching up with cousins while we ate.

The nuggets (including all their ‘cousins’) were quick to eat because they knew there was an egg hunt waiting to be had!

IMG_4408

Because of the chilly northern weather, the eggs were ‘hid’ inside instead of out…this made for a pretty each hunt, but didn’t seem to take too much wind out of the kiddos sails!

It was a sweet day of celebrating our Savior and a gift to be able to hopefully plant little seeds in our nuggets’ hearts.

Be blessed.

Field Trip

A couple weeks ago, Bampa invited our little man on a field trip of sorts.

The two enjoyed a trip out of town and and back on the commuter rail!

Most people wouldn’t jump at the opportunity to board a train with the sole purpose of riding it out and back…but these two did!

IMG_2392

While waiting at the station for the train, B took notice of a nearby construction site…which made the trip even better!

Apparently B plowed through the snacks that Gram packed without any hesitation…

IMG_2393

All in effort to have as much energy as possible for exploring each of the train’s cars!

IMG_2400

Needless to say, he (and probably Bampa) slept hard after the big day of train riding and snack eating!

Be blessed.

Safety First

Apparently our house is dusty…so much that it necessitates goggles to tackle the job!!!

Oh, to get into this little nugget’s head!

So silly and so busy!

Be blessed.

Silly Girl(s)

The other day C captured Little A and some of her sillies!

I had picked her up to get a hug…

IMG_4353

IMG_4334

And a kiss…

IMG_4318

Then (while giggling) she started pointing to my mouth…

IMG_4297

Nose…

IMG_4295

Eyes…

IMG_4289

Ears…

IMG_4282

Chin…

IMG_4276

Mouth…

IMG_4263

Which precipitated a pretty silly episode of laughing!

IMG_4262

IMG_4249

IMG_4239

Oh, how I could eat this nugget (and her big brother) up!

So sweet, and yes, so silly!

Be blessed.

Just Like Daddy!

The other day, the nuggets joined me on a mission to find C some more work shirts.

To B’s delight, we found a shirt similar to the one’s we had found for C in his favorite color!

Later that evening, while C was trying on our finds…B was quick to ask if he could be like his dad and try his on…

IMG_2391

Little A didn’t get a shirt…but wanted to be a part of the action!

Be blessed.

Gigi & Papa’s Visit

Gigi and Papa ventured up to the ‘frozen tundra’ of our neck of the wood to celebrate B’s birthday!

After picking them up from the airport, we headed to the Rainforest CafĂ© (per B’s request) to celebrate his birthday a touch early. Little A was thrilled to have Gigi as a walking companion as we ventured towards the restaurant.

IMG_2300

B was impressed by the pretend thunderstorms, gorillas and myriad  other entertainment that the restaurant had to offer. Little A wasn’t as impressed, but seemed to enjoy some of the aquariums.

IMG_2298

Papa was quick to create some silly and fun inside games with the nuggets while waiting for B’s birthday breakfast. The three giggled and giggled as they played together.

IMG_3967

IMG_3981

B wasn’t shy about opening his birthday gifts after his party guests headed home. He enjoyed discovering what gifts Gigi and Papa had brought all the way from Texas…

IMG_4195

And was super excited to finally know what was inside the packaged that Auntie B has sent in the mail a couple days before his birthday!

IMG_4178

The day after B’s birthday was St. Patrick’s Day…in typical our neck of the wood tradition, the kids (really just B) enjoyed green milk and Lucky Charms (the sugary cereal took C and I back a few years!).

IMG_2340

IMG_2337

In effort to be a little more refined for our special house guests…we also enjoyed banana bread with Shamrock sprinkles on top!

IMG_4196

After a fun couple days of playing and getting some good Gigi & Papa time in, Papa headed home.

Gigi was able to extend her time a bit and enjoyed quite a bit of ‘hanging around’ our neck of the wood with the nuggets.

There was a lot of reading that took place…especially in pajamas!

IMG_2341

A trip to Chipotle…per the kiddos (and let’s be honest, C’s) request…

IMG_2355

A trip to a new favorite dessert spot…

IMG_2358

An impromptu sledding date with the help of a cardboard box…

IMG_2347

IMG_2343

IMG_2348

A trip to swim lessons…

IMG_2389

Lots and lots of fun playtime on the floor (something the B craves and doesn’t get much with his very pregnant momma)…

IMG_2353

Watching a real tow truck come take Mommy’s car to the car doctor!

IMG_2371

Story time at the table!

IMG_2365

IMG_2363

Little A’s first french braid (done by Gigi herself)…

IMG_2376

And of course some good old fashioned piano time!

IMG_2374

Our time wasn’t scheduled…it was laid back but filled to the brim!

Hopefully the next time we’ll see less snow and more (green) grass…regardless we’ll look forward to their next visit and are grateful that Gigi and Papa got to celebrate alongside out little guy.

Be blessed.
