Afternoon Play
In our neck of the wood…
Apparently it snows in Minnesota?!? It’s not in the immediate forecast but it will sometime soon…so we’re trying to squeeze as much out of the fall as possible.

A Day on the Farm
This week, we enjoyed spending a beautiful day on my aunt and uncle’s farm…
Little A enjoyed taking everything ‘farm’ in…
While B found himself content with the tractor!
For B, the tractors seemed to be the main attraction, though he did check out the pigs, goats, sheep, horses, pumpkin patch and enjoyed driving a small tractor and trailer!
A kept B company as he waited for lunch…
Lunch on the farm may have been the highlight for everyone as a large tractor pulling a combine trailer drove by in front of the large window in the kitchen/eating area…B squealed as he watched the large machine harvest corn.
As for the rest of us, w e enjoyed a delicious soup buffet for lunch before heading home for a good afternoon nap.
Thank you Uncle J & Aunt A for a beautiful ‘respite’ city life…we’ll be sure to come again!

Oh, the Satisfaction!
A few weeks ago at the lake, we threw water balloons (despite the chilly October air)…to help our hearts and burn off some steam.
A gracious neighbor shared some balloons…
We filled them up with water…
We went up onto the balcony…
And threw them against the tall trees!
The simple act of throwing a water balloon (with all your might) against a tree trunk is quite therapeutic…watching the latex balls explode and splash provided such a simple satisfaction!
The next time we need to blow off some steam we might try a piñata…as we wouldn’t want the balloons to freeze midair!

Pumpkin Patch
A few weeks ago we stopped by a pumpkin patch on the way to the lake…it was sort of an impromptu trip (the kids aren’t wearing cute matching clothes…like I had envisioned) but we have the memory!
