Stand Strong!

B was old enough to attend our church’s Vacation Bible School this summer.

B’s eagerness and excitement was contagious as even Little A enjoyed taking VBS (or the drop off process) in!

The theme was ‘Stand Strong’…we got bits and pieces of each evening from B as he tried his hardest to recap in the car on the way home each night. We don’t know how much actually ‘stuck’ but pray that God is working on his little heart!

The characters of VBS encouraged the kids to bring toilet paper in to collect for families in need…B was adorable, he went to our linen closet (where we store toilet paper) and found a single roll to bring with him one night, he was so proud!  Oh, how we could eat his little heart up!

It is our sincere prayer that B (and the other nuggets) would begin to have a ripe and softened heart towards Truth and Jesus Christ.

Be blessed.

Dairy Days

The local dairy near the Cabin-Home hosted the 1st annual Dairy Days this summer.

To say this was a ‘blimp’ on the calendar would be a MAJOR understatement as the event was complete with free cheese and ice cream, tours of the dairy’s cheese room, live band and mini donuts!

We laughed when we say the ‘line’ for the mini-donuts…the sign alludes to the treats being either incredibly popular or hard to locate, neither of which was true!

Though Little A was quite impressed by the sugary treat!

The ice cream samples we a hit with the big nuggets…

But the tractor display was the best part…to say that B and A were captivated would be an understatement!

Embracing ‘small town’ life and trying to be a local can be really fun and not to mention quite tasty!

Great Minnesota Mimi & Grandpa

Little C enjoyed meeting his great Minnesota Mimi and Grandpa a few weeks back. The older nuggets enjoyed hearing Mimi’s silly songs and Grandpa’s stories about trains!

Learning a Legacy

B participated in his first official ‘sport’ this summer…none other than T-Ball...as he has some big shoes (cleats) to fill!

Overall, he seemed to enjoy himself…he’s still learning the basics…throwing (with his hand and not his gloveSmile ), catching, running the bases…one of the most memorable moments of this first sporting bout was not his athleticism as much as his excitement when his ‘teammates’ chose his idea for the team’s name… “The Gray Robots”!

So fun to experience these more ‘grown up’ aspects of nugget-ness.

New Favorite

IMG_2758

Gotta make sure we remember to count this little nugget when picking out corn on the cob at the grocery store…she’s quite the fan!

Little C’s First Boat Ride

Since our littlest nugget was born in the Land of 10,000 lakes we feel it only appropriate to ‘indoctrinate’ him early and hope that he has an affinity playing on the lake!

Little C’s first boat ride was pretty anticlimactic as he fell asleep. The older nuggets enjoyed the ride…it was a treat to get out and enjoy the fresh air.

Soccer Siblings

B got this soccer goal for his birthday and seems to have really taken to it. B doesn’t necessarily have all the right ‘gear’ as is identified by his choice of footwear…but that hardly stops him!

IMG_2724

Little A has as well…really, she’ll take to anything her big brother does!

Little Gardener

It took until the beginning of June to finally plant flowers…my only excuse is that life with three nuggets is quite busy!

One afternoon during Little A’s rest time, this little man helped me plant.

He was thrilled to be able to use the garden hose all by himself!

I don’t have much of a green thumb, but can say that the plants started out happy, healthy and very well watered!

Bedtime Routine

C had the idea of snapping photos of the everyday ‘mundane’ around our neck of the wood in effort to remember the everyday nugget-ness.

Bedtime is sweet around here…nothing major or out of the ordinary…but a time when we are all typically home as we wind down together.

B has started to get his one jammies on…this can be quite a dance (literally) as he wiggles and moves to try to get arms and legs in their correct jammie spots.

Tickling of teeth can be sweet or like pulling teeth (pun intended!) Sometimes we like the taste of toothpaste and other times not so much.  B watches his tooth brush as he brushes…the wheels inside his head rarely take a break from figuring the world out!

IMG_5369

Once teeth are brushed and siblings are hugged and kissed…this nugget gets in bed, lays his head on his Ella dog and waits for his bedtime song and prayer…after that, the big lights get turned off…his bedside table light gets turned on and he ‘reads’…and often falls asleep while reading.

Oh, the littleness of this nugget! He is growing up before our eyes…so grateful for him and all the ‘mundane’ daily memories he provides us with!

Be blessed.

Last Day of School

What a difference a school year can make!

B was blessed to be loved by these two sweet women this year…to say that he thought they were the best would be an understatement!

IMG_2682

We couldn’t have asked for a better year!

When we interviewed him on his last day he said his favorite part about school was…

“Learning about 911, meeting a police car and making a geyser”.

My momma heart is already up in my throat as I think about the little amount of time between now and Kindergarten…trying to savor the little-ness!

Be blessed.
