This week, we enjoyed a fantastic (and yes, hot) afternoon at the state fair.
We met up with Gram and Grandpa and hit some of the favorite spots.
Do to a little “Mommy Snap hew” (I forgot our big stroller) B got to ride around the fair ground race car-style (a unique rental to say the least). Thank you for coming to the rescue Grandpa.
Our first stop was the Dairy Barn where B enjoyed nothing else than his favorite, a chocolate milkshake…He wasn’t too enamored by the butter sculptures, but seemed relatively impressed with the creamy treat.
Later we made our way to the Swine Barn where my aunt and uncle were showing their goats. After initial skepticism, B warmed up to the idea of feeding the goats…and was quickly offered the invitation to feed the goats as much as he wanted!!!
B became quite popular amongst the four-legged crowd.
Next was some french fries…and “pop”…
Then a soft hand rolled pretzel…
Then the Giant Slide!!! Which B loved, he put his hands in the air just like he does on hills in the car.
Little A watched from below as she wasn’t quite tall enough to make the giant ride.
Our next stop was Machinery Hill…this was probably B’s favorite (and the most free)!
Little A patiently waited as B tried ‘riding’ almost every tractor/riding lawn mower being shown at the fair.
B found a little “Twaylor” souvenir to bring home to hook up to the “Twactor” he already had…the remainder of the evening, trailer sat on his race car as he rode throughout the fair grounds.
After machinery hill, we found some cheese curds and then capped the culinary experience off with some Tom Thumb Mini Donuts…
Little A was a good sport, as I assume the fair to be not near as exciting without being able to eat the food!
After saying good bye to Gram and Grandpa (and the rental stroller), we walked to the car…trailer in hand.
Exhausted, with glassy blue eyes, B held the box all the way home (balancing both side on his car seat)…we talked abut his Grandy and how much he liked tractors and trailers as we drove.
When we got home, the incentive for a quick bath was opening the trailer up to play with quick before bed…
Not surprisingly, it was a hit..and wore our little guy out!
All in all it was a great memory. We ate ourselves silly, had fun watching B (and all the other people around us) and enjoyed a little taste of what I remembered the fair being like.
Gram and Grandpa, thanks for sharing the afternoon with us…and for all the tasty treats!
Until next year!
Be blessed.
