This past Friday, we snuck away from our neck of the wood to enjoy a dessert date with my grandparents…B & A’s ‘Minnesota Mimi & Grandpa’.
B enjoyed exploring Mimi & Grandpa’s home as he found little toys and trinkets to play with and even found train and trolley books to flip through!
They graciously had the table set and ready for out little guy…complete with tasty treats and a miniature tea set.
After finding his place, B dug into some red and orange Jello…he giggled as it slipped between his little fingers.
Mimi set B’s spot on a cookie sheet, this allowed him to pour his very own tea (water) into his own tea cup(which he paid for with a pretend nickel). I am not sure who ‘drank’ more tea…B or the cookie sheet…but all that matters is he had a fantastic time, pouring and then asking for more!
I forgot to snap a photo of little A enjoying her Cheerios alongside B’s snacks. She dropped quite a few of her treats, which led to pulling out the vacuum to clean up the floor. As we all know, B was quick to offer up some of his vacuuming skills as he helped to clean up little A’s mess.
As we finished dessert, we heard a train at the nearby street crossing…this signaled all us us to jump up and head towards the window. What perfect dessert entertainment as B was able to see the train roll through Mimi & Grandpa’s backyard.
After B’s tummy was full with treats and shirt & pants covered with ‘tea’ we retired into the living room for a little bit of entertainment.
Mimi got out her kid-friendly harp and both B and A got to touch and ‘play’ the little wooden instrument. Mimi even told one of her famous make believe stories to the kiddos…they were both quite impressed.
Mimi & Grandpa, thank you for such a nice visit…it was a special way to spend our fun Friday!
Be blessed.
