No one would ever guess that the thermometer read 70+ degrees last weekend with week’s big snow storm and cold snap!
It’s true…we have gotten a little taste of winter in our neck of the wood which provided our family with a welcomed day off.
When C learned that his office was closed, we celebrated by enjoying a lazy breakfast together at the table….
Later, C went outside to check pipes and faucets…while the faucets were being secured (the verdict is still out as to whether any pipes froze or not)…B and I got bundled up and ready to play.
We don’t have the “gear” that some folk who are used to snow might have so we got a little creative…B donned his rain boots with two pairs of socks, overalls, a sweatshirt, wool sweater, rain coat, hat and mittens.
The lack of appropriate gear didn’t stop B from absolutely loving the snow!
C, B and Ella all got in on the snowy fun!
Baby A and I even made an appearance…my pregnant self lacked appropriate gear as well, consequently a pretty impressive fashion statement was made for our neighbors!
After heading inside and peeling off wet clothes and boots, we discovered these sweet little cheeks (please excuse the runny nose, that seems to be a consolation prize for playing outside).
Playing outside wore our little B out…he (and his slippers) enjoyed a good afternoon nap.
While B napped, C and I enjoyed the gift of not having an agenda or to-do list for the day. It was such a treat to have the weather push the pause button and almost force us to spend a lazy day together at home.
Enjoy the cold!
Be blessed.
