Thinking Spot

“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Behavior “Boot Camp” has begun in our neck of the wood!

We are just now experiencing the need to “think” about making good decisions…our biggest struggle is with the word “NO!”.  Little B seems to enjoy saying “No!” and “No No Momma!” and has taken to running away when he is asked to do something he isn’t interested in doing.  These initial signs of willful disobedience have humbled my heart in a way I never imagined…I often find myself wondering “Who are you? and What have you done with my sweet and compliant little buddy"?”

It is so hard to believe that the rubber has met the road in regard to discipline.  I find myself  daunted by the task of of loving/disciplining our little guy consistently but know that the fruit of our labor will be great in that B will learn the heart habit of being respectful and obedient.

We found this little green placemat that B uses for his thinking spot.  The spot can easily be moved or packed up to provide B with as much consistency as possible.  The spot is gaining significance by the day…the first few attempts at sitting on the spot ended with giggling and laughing…though now, after several thinking times, B seems to be catching onto the idea.

I don’t have any incriminating photos on the thinking spot just yet…but just imagine a little boy with two sweet blue eyes looking at you…(to provide a glimpse of how hard this task of “training” seems to be).

Maybe you need to practice "the look"!
Keep on keeping on....you are doing a great job, and will be blessed by a little man with an obedient heart. Hugs!!!
