If I’m not mistaken, the original intent of ‘Labor Day’ weekend is to rest from all your labor. As parents of little ones…that doesn’t always seem/feel possible as the days are filled with busyness that doesn’t seem to take a break.
That being said, we did enjoy a fantastic Labor Day (though labor filled) weekend at one of our favorite spots!
C and the nuggets rang in the weekend with a little bit of cartoons as we waited for other family members to make their way downstairs for breakfast…
Lots of fun was had on the boat…Both B & A have developed quite patient sea-legs as the summer has progressed.
Fun wasn’t just had on the boat, the kiddos and pups enjoyed playing in the water.
While others enjoyed the comfort of the shore.
It wouldn’t be the ‘Cabin Home’ without tasty food. My mom outdid herself with a cabin style lunches and delicious dinners.
Chaotic would probably best describe our time around the table…as at times it felt like the nugget population was rivaling the grown-up population.
Everyone took it in stride and graciously listened to the squeals, invented car and truck noises and myriad of other crazy sounds that the little ones were capable of making!
After saying goodbye to our extended family, we enjoyed a bit more Cabin Time before packing up and heading home.
These two’s bath time antics were hysterical as each night required a bath the dirt and grime that play accumulated each day!
As the summer comes to a close, there was some work that needed to be done to bat down the cabin’s hatches for winter. The raft got towed in to shore and deflated while C and B took the jet ski out for one final spin before pulling it out of the water and riding it back to the cabin on the trailer (B thought that was pretty neat).
Don’t be fooled, we were all sure to get plenty of playtime in between ‘jobs’ s is identified in these intense pinball competition and golfing photos…
And as tradition would have (though it’s only the second year thus far)…one last summer family photo!
What a blessing of a weekend…lots of fun, lots of memories…lots of good old ‘laboring’ to round out the holiday weekend!
Be blessed.
You have such a sweet way with words and pictures. You really captured the beauty and fun of that day! Thanks so much for sharing. :)
