Gigi & Papa’s Visit

Gigi and Papa snuck up for a little visit this past weekend!

We had so much fun as we packed some good ‘just being together’ time in around our neck of the wood.

We enjoyed a quick trip to the ‘Cabin Home’ where we woke up to chilly September-like weather…

While we waited for the sun to warm things up, B enjoyed playing with some puzzles that Gigi surprised him with…

And Little A enjoyed being ‘Super A’…

Once the sun came out, we enjoyed some good playing time outside. C & B ventured out to the raft where they jumped together. B used his ‘strong muscles’ to push C into the water a few times…C was gracious as the water has gotten a little chilly with the September-like lows.

Little A watched the antics from the dock as she sat with both Gigi and Papa…

Later, we enjoyed a cruise around the lake…B was our captain!

Little A was on the move as we rode…pretty typical for this little nugget!

After a traditional cabin lunch, the kiddos headed down for naps and my dad took the four of us on the boat to tow C…

Oh, how I wish I had the courage, stamina and persistence to try surfing, it looks like so much fun!

While we were our, we gave my brother a ride!

After a good long day of playing, Little A enjoyed a bath from her two grandmas!  She’s so wiggly and squirmy that it takes two to get this nugget bathed, these two kindly obliged .

The next day we enjoyed church and one of the best breakfasts around town…seriously…SO GOOD!!!

Then we headed home for some good old fashioned backyard fun!

It was great to watch B welcome Gigi and Papa into his little backyard world…

And I’ll admit, so honest to take a break, sit down and really soak our little guy’s play in!

Little A enjoyed showing Gigi her favorite backyard toy…

As the bottom half of the chalk board got covered in chalk!

Having dinner outside seemed like the perfect bookend to the day…

As did skyping with Auntie B, Grandpa J…

And a backyard campfire!!!!

The next day, we enjoyed moving to the front yard to play.

B gassed up the cozy coupes…

And the play was underway!

Oh, how I love these two nuggets!

And before Papa headed home, a quick round of golf…

Gigi was able to extend her trip a touch longer…this was a treat as it provided one more day of sweet time to play the piano and sneak more play time  in!

Gigi brought some music with her, it was fun to watch B recognize some of the songs from church as she played them.

Little A took to ‘reading’ as Gigi and B played.

Before taking Gigi to the airport, we enjoyed lunch in one of our favorite spots…

 

And of course found a playground to get these nuggets good and tired!

This was one of Gigi and Papa’s best trips to our neck of the wood yet! It was great to have simple at home playtime at the top of our agenda.

Gigi and Papa, thank you for making the trip and for meeting us where we are at up here in our neck of the wood. We are looking forward to more good old fashioned play time in just a few short weeks!
