Backyard Escape

As we continue to adjust to life with two little ones, we are both realizing that it is simply easier to spend more time at home as it seems to take an act of congress to get all four us ready and out of the door.

With that said, I have been trying to think of fun B-friendly activities to keep our little guy busy and engaged. On Saturday, while I was out on a diaper errand, I happened to drive past a garage sale that had various kid-friendly outside play toys.  This Little Tikes play gym caught my attention…it was $25.00 and seemed to be a great addition to our backyard.

We set the little gym up while B was taking his afternoon nap.  After he woke up, we took him outside to see his “surprise”…he wasn’t quite sure what to think!

After some sandbox playtime, he warmed up to the idea of exploring his new toy…

He even tried the slide!

As we sat and watched B play, we began to think that this little backyard spot might provide a nice summer evening get-a-way. One thing led to another as C worked to fix a broken table that our land lord had left in the backyard.

B worked to help C fix the table…as little A and I watched…

(I love B’s tongue)

About 15 minutes later, we had a backyard escape complete with a sandbox, play gym and patio table…totaling less than $30.00!!!

With that said, we can’t wait to break out the grill and enjoy dinner outside while B plays…family and friends are welcome!

Here’s to great garage sale deals and getting creative!

Be blessed.
