Little Engines

This weekend we walked down memory lane as we ventured out of our neck of the wood and headed over to the St. Croix Railroad for the last open ride day of the season.

My brothers and I enjoyed riding these miniature trains when we were little, it was quite a treat to be able to experience the tiny trains through B’s eyes.

Here is a glimpse of the SCR that I found on youtube to try to provide a glimpse of our special outing…

B was quite patient as we waited in line to ride the trains…

When it was finally time for us to board, B took his boarding instructions very seriously, he sat still, kept his hands in his lap (quite literally) and remained wide-eyed as the little steam engine began to inch its way down the track.

My Mimi and Grandpa joined in on the fun as spectators, they introduced us to the little engine many years ago.

The tracks wove  through a little forest, crossed bridges & trestles and sped through tunnels.

Everything was built to scale…as is identified by this water tower...

After our ride, B enjoyed some popcorn and explored the railroad by foot…

He found a train to climb on…

And watched trains creep along the tracks.

All the excitement did a fantastic job of wearing out little guy out!

Little A enjoyed the trains from the comfort of her baby bjorn…maybe next year she’ll be as excited to ride the trains as B!!!!

Gram, Grandpa, Mimi & Grandpa…thanks for joining us for such a special adventure!

Be blessed.

Ikea

In Texas we lived about an hour away from the closet Ikea…now we live about 20 minutes, which means lots and lots and lots of trips!

Where else can you find furniture, toys and food all under one roof. I have heard it called the ‘Disney World’ of home décor…and I believe it…yes, it is quite an experience, not to mention, quite inexpensive!

On Saturday morning, we ditched the donut shop,  loaded up the family car and headed toward the Scandinavian warehouse store to pick up some odds and ends.

Prior to shopping, we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast…where else can you get kids French toast sticks, chocolate milk, coffee & cinnamon rolls for two, a breakfast plate filled with eggs, bacon and home fries and Swedish pancakes for $8.99…SERIOUSLY!!! (I am embarrassed to admit that we ate that much, but it was delicious!)

B kept his breakfast warm by putting a blanket over it…oh, to get into that little mind of his!

Happy Sunday.

Be blessed.

Fall Surprise

We discovered this sweet gift on our front steps this weekend…

Hand Eye Coordination

A enjoys watching B…you can just imagine the little wheels turning in her head as she watches him play.

IMG_6988

She is far from being able to drive twucks and twailors around the gloor, but getting the hang of using her hands to get any and everything up to her mouth.

I caught this progression as the two played this week…

Wowrka Men

C was gracious and got up with B this morning so that I could sleep.  He got B dressed (he let B pick out his own clothes…check out his pants, they are quite the fashion statement) and then two of them went down to the garage to work.

It was a delight to listen to the two work from inside, they talked about twactors, bikes, hammered, tidied etc. etc.

When I went down to say ‘Good Moring’ this is what I I saw…

As I snapped the photos B told me ‘I’m wowrkin’ mommy"!”

Love it.

3 Goldens and Fence!

We enjoyed a very impromptu ‘sibling’ dinner last night…the pups came along to inaugurate the completion of our fence (a project that took almost 8 weeks to complete!)!

Ella enjoyed Gatsby & Maddie’s company outside, while we enjoyed J, J & K’s company around the dinner table.

I’m sure we had the neighbor's talking as the three big dogs played together in the backyard!

We missed you A.

Happy weekend.
