Takin’ Care of Business

B loves to help with the laundry…

I so enjoyed this progression that C captured the other night…

Watching the clothes go round and round in the washing machine…

Buzzz…time to transfer the clothes over to the dryer…

Making sure that everything is in just so…

Almost done…

Happy with all of his hard work!

IMG_1130

Onto whatever task might come his way next!

It is our prayer that B will grow up to have a Colossians 3:23-24 attitude…

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.”

No matter how mundane or “boring the task or seemingly worthless the task…We  hope that  B will learn to work with his whole heart and pray that we will be able to lead him by example…what a humbling task!

A Little Shout Out for Minnesota

IMG_1040

B donned his Viking apparel this afternoon in honor of the big football game tonight…

 IMG_1036

If you look closely you’ll notice B’s eyes are red and puffy …and he has quite a runny nose…it is official, B was diagnosed with his first ear infection this morning…we almost made it a year…but no such luck!  We learned that we can’t use B’s disposition as a gauge in regard to how he feels…he has been his happy bubbly self …we are grateful that his eyes and nose acted up and “spoke” on his behalf otherwise we wouldn’t have known he wasn’t feeling well! Praise God for doctor’s and medicine…he should be back to normal by tomorrow afternoon!

Go Vikings!

One Step Closer to Freedom...

B is by no means walking...but this afternoon he figured out how to test his legs out by pushing his toy walker across the floor...he still takes to his three legged crawl as his primary form of mobility...we are by no means wishing his time of crawling away...but it is such a joy to watch him figure his little world out!

Swinging outside on a beautiful afternoon…

Lord, thank You for all the little ways that you brighten our days…thank You for all of life’s simple joys!

B’s New Ride

One of the perks of living in Texas is that you can enjoy a nice bike ride in the middle of January…so we decided to take a family bike outing yesterday afternoon in effort to take advantage of the beautiful weather…

IMG_1000

B was less than thrilled by the idea of having to wear a bike helmet…but after getting used to it, he realized that there was a lot to look at as he “zoomed”(I really am not able to bike that fast!) down the street…

At one pointed we looked in the trailer and noticed that he was lounging, he had put both legs up on the side of the trailer as if to say “Boy, oh boy, this is the life…I guess the helmet isn’t that bad!”

IMG_1003

He was all smiles by the end of the ride!

We are looking forward to many more family bike rides…there is a lot of ground to be covered and explored!

A little B update…

IMG_0970

B has discovered that he can be like Ella and stand at the front door and watch the world go by…in this photo, the two were waiting for me to carry some groceries inside…it is almost as if they are cheering me on saying “Come on mom, go go go!”

 IMG_0973

It is official…B experienced his first “big kid” shopping cart ride…one Friday evening we took a family date to Central Market…after thoroughly disinfecting the cart…we strapped B in and his eyes immediately  lit up at everything that he could see and try to touch!

IMG_0974

B was all smiles even when we got home!

IMG_0979

We had to capture this moment because a woman at the grocery store commented that our entire family had matching shoes…thank goodness for warm toes!

IMG_0984

In the past two weeks or so, B has discovered that he can stand up in his crib…this is the little face that greets us each morning and after nap time…notice the red forehead…B likes to sleep with his head facing down!

IMG_0981

My dad and brother stopped in for a super quick visit on my brother’s way back to school…they joined us for our Saturday morning breakfast before hitting the road again…this was my parent’s last time to send a kid to school!  M, good luck with your last semester…we are praying for your big test!

IMG_0988

Before leaving, B made sure to teach my dad how to type some emails…we found an old keyboard that B loves to play with…he plays on his while we type on ours!

IMG_0990

We are still working on introducing B to a sippy cup…he likes to carry the cups around but hasn’t quite figured out how to get the water from inside the cup into his mouth.

 IMG_0992

This past weekend, B got to experience his first friend’s birthday party!  His friend, L, turned one!  There were some “older” kids at the party…ages ranging from 1-3 years…it was unreal to think that B will be walking, running and playing like the big kids in no time…it really reminded us to savor all the time that we have…because we know that he will continue to grow in the blink of an eye.
