Ideas…

Walking through the Bachman’s Idea House inspires one to be creative and crafty all at the same time. It is truly amazing how talented the designers of this house are as they repurpose countless items to encourage others’ creative juices.

Below are some photos of my favorite ideas from this year’s fall house…

B’nana Bwead Routine

B has taken to asking for B’nana Bwead (banana bread) almost every morning for breakfast…he typically asks for the bread and then boosts himself up into his chair and waits for help getting buckled in.

From his chair he will say “b’nana bread pweese!” (I’ll admit the tone of his requests are often whiney which mean we have several exchanges about using a happy voice and manners before the bread even makes it to the table).

When he finally utters “May I haav b’nana bwead pweese” we fold our hands, pray (his eyes typically remain opened as he can’t seem to take his eyes off of his breakfast waiting to be enjoyed)…and then dig in!!!

The other morning, he brought his book to the table. As he ate, he ‘read’ as if he was catching up on the day’s current events.

After the bread is finished, we typically hear “Get don pweese”…which means he is all done and it’s time for Ella to come clean the crumbs off of the chair and floor.

Happy Wednesday.

Five and a Half Months = Rice Cereal Time!

Here is the initial progression…

With little/no hesitation…she was ready for more…needless to say, SHE LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IMG_9509IMG_9538

She looked like a little bird waiting to be fed as she watched the spoon come up to her mouth…a couple times she even leaned over to watch us fill the spoon with more drippy mushey goodness.

IMG_9539IMG_9543IMG_9548

We tried to be neat and tidy, but to no avail…it wasn’t long before the cereal was hanging off of her chin!

I love C’s face in this photo…it’s almost as if he is mimicking little A.

Little A savored her first spoon fed meal as is evidenced by the next several photos…

She headed to the bath after finishing her first ‘big girl’ meal and then headed to bed and slept a long long long time…much to her mommy and daddy’s delight as recently she has taken to starting her mornings about 4:30am!

Here’s to firsts for Little A!
